Deputy Kuznetsov called on the head of the Russian delegation at the negotiations in Istanbul not to forget about the 13,000 pro-Russian political prisoners and civilian captives

State Duma deputy Dmitry Kuznetsov sent a request to take into account the "dramatic situation with pro-Russian political prisoners in Ukraine" to the head of the Russian delegation at the Istanbul talks, Vladimir Medinsky. He also handed over lists of "civilian prisoners" - Ukrainian citizens who are being persecuted in their homeland on charges of pro-Russian activities.
According to the politician, more than 3,300 people have been sentenced to various terms, including life imprisonment, under such articles. Up to 10,000 more are in pretrial detention centers and "illegal places of detention" on charges of collaborating with Russia or publicly expressing pro-Russian views. Our country must take part in their fate, Dmitry Kuznetsov emphasizes.
On the evening of May 14, the composition of the Russian delegation for negotiations in Istanbul was approved. They are scheduled to begin on May 15.
A very important issue that must be resolved with Ukraine one way or another is the thousands of Russian supporters illegally languishing in the SBU dungeons.
I would like (oh, miracle, maybe they will include it!) to see it on the agenda of the Istanbul talks.
